PharmaSeq, Inc., is the inventor and sole manufacturer of the p-Chip crypto anchor, the world’s first and only ultra-small micro-transponder that emits a unique serial number when illuminated with laser light. It functions as a digital anchor for physical products, associating a unique, unchangeable identifier with a physical item, to create a digital twin.
With a uniquely traceable, light-activated micro-transponder (a silicon microchip), ultra-secure p-Chip crypto anchors track, connect and authenticate goods across the supply chain.
Company History
In 1999, PharmaSeq, Inc. began the research and development efforts that would lead to the p-Chip. Founder Dr. Wlodek Mandecki invented the light-activated micro-transponder, which was registered under the trademark p-Chip® in 2012.
The Company began commercial operations in late 2011, initiating sales for tagging and tracking small laboratory animals.
The p-Chip micro-transponder was originally developed with an Advanced Technology Program grant from the U.S. National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST). PharmaSeq later expanded its expertise to include scientific instrument design, electrical and mechanical engineering, optics, material science, software and molecular biology.
In 2021, PharmaSeq, Inc. was officially acquired by p-Chip Corp.
